Bobby Wilson is yet another in a long list of genuine soul talents who recorded one outstanding, albeit commercially unsuccessful, album and then never released another record. Released on the Buddah label, which was home to many other fine soul recordings, in the mid-70s, I'll Be Your Rainbow is a deep soul delight. The whole album flows beautifully and is stacked full of great songs, though if pushed to name highlights i'll mention the dramatic opener "Deeper and Deeper" and "Don't Shut Me Out". A rare real soul treasure.
